What you'll learn
Students will develop a range of skills needed for secondary English.
There are many skills that students will learn as they work through the course but the main ones are, for writing, they will build up confidence in analysing texts and be able to write an effective PEE response to a question. For writing, they will become confident in their writing of different text types and for speaking and listening, the aim is for them to improve their confidence in public speaking and debate, as they research and develop an argument to a topic they are given.
Curriculum (GMT+1)
The live classes would be conducted online! The teacher will do video conference with students in our online classroom. You only need either a mobile phone, an iPad or a computer with webcam/mic to attend the lesson.

12 - 15 years old secondary school students
Description
Students will work on building up a tool kit that will equip them with all of the necessary skills needed for progression and development in secondary school.
We will work on the following:
Reading and comprehension.
We will study a range of fiction and non-fiction texts and will work on our understanding of both the explicit and the implicit. We will make inferences based on what we have read and we will work on building up and developing confidence in writing PEE paragraphs.
Writing
We will work on a variety of different writing techniques and will develop our skills by writing in both a fiction and non-fiction way. We will look at different text types and analyse how they are different and we will build up and develop confidence in our writing to inform, argue and persuade.
Speaking and listening:
We will work on our debate / public speaking skills. We will learn about researching a topic and how to go about formulating an argument. We will also work on presentation and will develop skills in being able to tackle answering questions effectively in a debate / public speaking situation.
