Set up tutor profile
Fill in your profile with introduction, expertise, profile picture and video. Set your hourly rate and availability.
Communicate with customers
Customers would invite you and you could chat with them to understand their learning goals and suggest lesson plans.
Teach classes online and earn income
Go to the online classroom to teach lessons at the scheduled time. We recommend that you use your computer with webcam at home.
Create a course
Apply to be a tutor. Fill in course introduction and upload introduction videos. Set its price.
Design course curriculum
Organize your lessons and schedule. The lessons could be a recorded video lesson or an online live class. You may create tests and assignments that students would have to submit.
Student enrollment
Students would enrol in the course. HeSheLearn would do the promotion and marketing for your course.
Teach classes online and earn income
Go to the online classroom at the scheduled time and teach the students live using your computer and webcam. Grade assignments submitted by students.

HeSheLearn is a marketplace of live courses. Our audience include primary/secondary school students and adults. You may teach languages, academic subjects and other skills on HeSheLearn, including English, Chinese, Mandarin and other languages, Mathematics, General Studies, Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Economics, etc. Many of our tutors focuses on tests and examinations, including IELTS, Cambridge, in-school examinations, DSE, IB, SAT, etc.
If you are a qualified teacher or professional with relevant teaching experience or skills, then you are eligible to apply to teach on HeSheLearn. You will have an advantage if you also have relevant qualifications or certifications, e.g. University degree in Education, CELTA/TEFL English teaching qualification, DELF/DALF French teaching qualification, etc. Please make sure you've added this information to your profile in order to attract more students.
Please also indicate your teaching experience in your profile, including the number of students and the number of years taught, and the school or institution where you taught in the past.
You set your own price in "My Profile". We allow our tutors to set their own hourly rate. Most tutors on HeSheLearn charge HK$ 200 - 800 per hour depending on the subjects and qualifications and experience of the tutor. If you're not sure about what price to set, you may refer to the fees of other tutors on our website. We would also provide guidance and market data of the prices of the tuition fee in your expert area.
It depends on your hourly rate and the number of hours you work on HeSheLearn and whether you have created group courses. Some of our part-time tutors can earn USD 1000 - 2000 (HKD 7750 - 15500) per month. Some of our full-time tutors can earn USD 5000 (HKD 38700) or above per month. Usually if you start quality group courses, your income will be greatly increased.
HeSheLearn charges 30% commission on the tuition fee of group courses. It charges 20% commission on the tuition fee of 1-on-1 classes. The amount received by the tutor would be the tuition fee paid by the student minus 3.8% payment charges and the commission.
* The commission fees cover marketing and promotion costs to promote your courses and profile to the students, server cost, customer service, development and other operational costs.
Once a lesson is successfully completed, the tuition fee will be credited to your account balance. You can withdraw the fee after 3 days. You have the option to use bank transfer, TransferWise or Paypal to do the withdrawal.
You have the options to teach 1-on-1 tutoring and/or group courses.
For 1-on-1 tutoring, you need to set up a complete profile on our platform and submit it for approval. After approval, students will be able to match with you through our online matching system, and you will be able to schedule meetings and lessons with the interested students.
For group courses, you need to create and design a course in our 'Create a Course' system. The course should have fixed dates and times. If you want to know what kinds of courses are in demand, please see the 'Desired Courses Table' below this FAQ section.
For 1-on-1 tutoring, most tutors charge USD 20 to 90 (HKD 150 to 700) per hour, depending on the subjects and qualifications and experience of the tutor. If you're not sure about what price to set, we could provide guidance and market data of the prices of the tuition fee in your expert area.
For group courses, most tutors charge USD 12 to 40 (HKD 100 to 310) per hour per student. For language courses, the class size should be around 2-8 students. For other subjects, there could be more students. For example, you can earn USD 15 x 8 students = USD 120 (HKD 930) per hour for teaching a group course.
