- My name is Harry and I am 24 years-old. I am a native English speaker and have recently gained my CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) qualification in November 2019. I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2018, where I studied geography.
My main hobbies and interests are based around sports and travelling. I love a lot of different sports, in particular, football and tennis. I have recently returned to the UK from Argentina and Chile where I was travelling for 10 weeks. I have many stories I would love to share with you about my trip and I would love to hear stories about your travelling adventures and what it's like to live in your country.
I have over 600 hours of online teaching in my current job. I have taught adults of all nationalities and levels about many different topics. I understand different learning styles and the reasons why people learn and can make the topics relate to the needs of the student. In addition, I have experience of tutoring geography to school children studying for their high school exams and whilst gaining my qualification. Finally, during my CELTA training, I had face to face teaching practice with adult learners. I taught two levels of classes during my course, one for beginner (elementary) level of English and the other to a slightly higher (intermediate) level of English. The adults in these classes had mixed abilities and therefore I have experience in teaching a wide range of different students.
I love teaching because I enjoy seeing a student develop their skills and gain confidence in their ability to speak English. I also like to build a relationship with my students and getting to know them during the lessons.
